Ipswich Speedway are very pleased to announce the signing of 19 year old Danyon Hume. He is based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire and is an ex-Trials rider who got the Speedway bug after doing a trials demo at Coventry. He completed his first season for Rye House in 2015 finishing with an NL average of 3.79
Danyon is very enthusiastic about the move: “I’m really looking forward to working with all the guys at Ipswich, I am good friends with Danny and his mechanic Richard who have helped me so much over the last year. Chris (Louis) was also a big help towards the end of the season when I made regular visits to Foxhall to gain more experience. I cannot thank Rye House enough for their efforts and track time over the past year but I know this will be a great move for me and just can’t wait to get started. I am looking to get settled into a National League team and it would be great to get that sorted out quickly.”
Chris Louis had this to say about his latest addition: “It’s fabulous to have Danyon on board and it’s refreshing to see how excited he is to be joining us. He’s young and so full of enthusiasm and although it’s early days, the little I have seen of him I get the feeling he has a great natural talent that just needs refining. Between Danny, Jem and myself I am sure we can round things off and watch him develop in to a top rider! I would like to thank Steve Jensen at Rye House for his cooperation, not only did he have Danyons wishes and interests at heart in allowing the move but he also donated half of the transfer fee to the Speedway Riders Benevolent fund, which was a very special gesture."
