Diamond Opposition On Thursday
The Ipswich 'Sackers' Witches welcome the Newcastle 'Sapphire Engineering / Darrian Properties' Diamonds to Foxhall this week for their last home league fixture of the 2012 season. Newcastle have already secured a play-off spot; they are currently second in the Premier League table but are aiming to overhaul Somerset for the coveted top position. With Ipswich needing to score maximum points in their last two remaining meetings to retain a chance of that final playoff place this looks like being another very closely fought meeting.
Ipswich will field the same team that overcame the Edinburgh Monarchs last week apart from the number seven position. With many of the rising stars in the National League taking part in the British U19 Final at Sheffield Dudley's Byron Bekker has been booked as cover for the injured Cameron Heeps. For Newcastle Steve & Richie Worrall are still sidelined with broken legs so Scunthorpe's Michael Palm Toft comes in as a guest to cover for Richie and Paul Starke comes in at reserve to cover for Steve. They will also be using rider replacement for Ludvig Lindgren as he is racing for his Swedish team, Rospiggarna, in the Swedish playoffs.
