The Ipswich 'Sackers' Witches came crashing down to earth with a bump last night against a very strong & determined display by the 'Henderson Insurance' Scorpions. Home fans were hoping to see their team continue their recent good form that produced three away victories in seven days but unfortunately they went home very disappointed.

Scunthorpe started with a maximum heat win in heat one and stayed in front for the whole meeting. Despite using two tactical rides in heat ten (Rohan Tungate) and heat eleven (Dakota North) Ipswich only scored two heat advantages all night. Rohan Tungate & Mat Tresarrieu both scored double figures with the Frenchman being named 'Man of the Meeting' by meeting sponsors 'Doug Wade Insurance'. Cameron Heeps scored two good heat wins and Morten Risager scored in all of his four heats. However the heatleader trio of Lanham, Doolan & North had eight last places between them with Doolan being replaced in his fourth programmed ride by Tresarrieu.

Ipswich team manager, Pete Simmons, said after the meeting "With our three heatleaders scoring just eight points between them and us filling eleven last places as opposed to Scunthorpe's top three riders scoring twenty nine points and them only having four last places we simply were not good enough!"
